April Fool Pranks 2019; The Best From The Corporate World
Khubaib AhsanNewsApril 2, 2019

So April just started but April fools Day came to its end. But we have successfully got our hands on the juiciest April fool news of 2019.

Every year, the tech companies, in their effort to look a happening and humorous industry, take great participation in April Fools Day. And I must say, every year they do show why they are ruling the world because even their humor has inventions. Even big brand names have been putting efforts to make themselves recognize as a ‘not-so-serious’ brand with their April Fools Pranks.

April Fool Pranks 2019: Companies That Made Us Laugh

Firstly, let us start with the best pranks of 2019.

  • Google; Introducing Screen Cleaner in The Filles App:

Google is Google, for a reason.

Google has been impressing us from years with its innovative, clever and realistic pranks. But this time, its users have been supporting the company with its prank as well.

This time Google tried playing with its users twice. Firstly, it decided to temporarily introduce the classic snake game in Google Maps.

The other prank involved introducing the new feature in the Google files Application. The cleaner will use software to identify dirt and smudges and magically clean your phone. And not only this, the cleaner will then creates a “long-lasting non-stick shield” on the surface of your phone.

This might feel bizarre in words but totally seemed believable in the video displayed by Google.

The greatest part of this prank was that Android users themselves tried their best in keeping the joke alive. We found most of the comments saying, “Screen Cleaner totally works!“

Good team effort, I must say.

  • Duolingo and its Large Walking Owl:

The free language-learning platform went too cute and too big for April Fool pranks 2019.

Duolingo has a daily reminder push-up notification system that helps to remain about their daily life lessons. But this time, they took it further. According to the video displayed below, the large green duolingo owl will follow you in real life of you tried missing out on your lessons.

The Application claims that the owl can appear in three modes, which are,  encouraging, disappointed, or passive aggressive.

  • One of Plus’s Wrap Car:

The OnePlus #WarpCar is coming. Are you ready to say goodbye to gasoline? #NeverSettle

— OnePlus (@oneplus) April 1, 2019

Okay, so this was kind of good.

The smartphone company on April 1, 2019, tweeted that its new project isn’t going to be a smartphone but an electric car.

They took their prank to a professional level by displaying the car’s specs and features on its official website.

Have to agree, looks so cool.

However, the fans were quick to notice that the teaser video of wrap car is nothing but Mclaren displayed under shadows.

  • Spotify’s – Typo or not Typo?

How's your Discocover Weekly today? 🕺

— Spotify (@Spotify) April 1, 2019

Unlike other weeks when Spotify lets you design your weekly playlist, the application did it for you for April first week.

At once it seemed like a typo but Spotify proved us wrong by having actual disco songs in its playlists.

  • Tinder Went Brutal:

Well, fragile male ego is under danger.

Tinder just tried playing a prank on its user by claiming to introduce the height verification future. This will make sure that only truth prevails in the popular dating application.

In this feature, the users will be asked to verify their height by using the height verification feature. All they have to do is take a picture by standing next to a commercial building. According to Tinder, they give honest badges to appreciate the honesty of the user that passed the verification feature.

Tinder savagely puts it as: “We’re expecting to see a huge decline in the 80% of males on Tinder who are claiming that they are well over 6 feet. That’s fine by us — as long as we’re all living our truths.”

  • Lego – Did You Just Made Fun of Apple?

The long search is finally over… 📱 #FindMyBrick pic.twitter.com/3yBIPJ2OPk

— LEGO (@LEGO_Group) April 1, 2019

So Lego just claimed to introduce a new application that will help users find their brick in a pile of miscellaneous blocks. This pretty much looks like a mockery of Apple’s “ Find my iPhone” application.

However, when the feature came out as a prank the users urged to have this feature in real as well.

However, there were many companies that displayed their wit and humor with their pranks but some of them ended up being cringe. So we are just going to skip giving more embarrassment to them.
