Apple And Samsung Are Going To Pay Big Time For Cheating On Their Customers!

The Smartphone giants, Apple and Samsung, are now facing a fine worth of 10 million Euros and 5 million Euros. And this for purposely slowing down their older smart phones.

 

It’s kind of an open secret in the technology world that big names like Apple and Samsung tend to slow down the functionality of their older phones. They do it as soon as they release their flagship phones. You might have heard the users, of the respective smartphone companies, complaining how their phones are showing ill functioning a year after its purchase. Well, this is because the companies wanted it like this.

 

The Italian Antitrust Authority Fined Apple and Samsung Big Time:

If you’re not a technology person and wondering why these smart phone companies deliberately damage their own system? And why would they want to make the older phones less functional? Then here’s some answers to satisfy your curiosity.

 

Apple and Samsung, throw their flagship smart phone almost every year. And soon after launching the new phones, they “make old devices less functional – and encourages the purchase of new phones”, the Italian antitrust authority AGM said in a statement.

The authority further claimed that this practice was performed by making the old customers download software in their old phones. Which were meant to slow down their functioning.

 

AGM said in a statement, ‘’The two companies have induced consumers to install software updates that are not adequately supported by their devices, without adequately informing them, nor providing them an effective way to recover the full functionality of their devices.’

So now that it’s out and open how the company has been cheating on its customers. How betrayed to do you feel?
