Facebook Is Determined To Fight Against Child Exploitation!

On Thursday, October 25th, the mega social networking site announced the removal of posts related to child exploitation from its platform.
One of the leading social networking platform, Facebook, announced today that it has removed 8.7 million pieces of content last quarter that violated the company’s rules against child exploitation.
It hasn’t been long since Facebook was accused of promoting false news through its platform. For which the Facebook company created war-room, that is created to fight misinformation and fake news in the coming days. And now we have come to know that Facebook is alarmed with the continuous posting of Facebook posts that are disturbing and contributes to child exploitation.
In her blog post, Antigone Davis, Facebook’s global head of safety, said that ‘The new AI and machine learning tech, which was developed and implemented over the past year by the company, removed 99 percent of those posts before anyone reported them’.
The new technology is sensitive towards child nudity and other disturbingly explosive content that I will examine and remove from the platform.
Apart from examining, the new technology can also report such accounts to The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, if necessary.
Although, the technology isn’t fully accurate as most of the parents on Facebook have complained that the harmless pictures they upload of their child are taken off from facebook. But we believe that this technology is determined to fight child nudity and pronogr[agy, which is prevailing on the platform.
One way or another, it’s high time to make Facebook a better place.
