Like every year, the Google keynote has brought rumors to reality. With news surrounding hardware, software, and the announcement of devices, Google Keynote 2019 took place.
Lasting for a good 2 hours, the keynote has given us some juiciest details about the innovations happening in the Google world. With devices coming on sale to what’s new in the Android Q, here are all the details about the big event happened on May 7, 2019.
Google Keynote 2019 Announcements:
Here are all important announcements you can’t afford to miss:
Affordable Google Pixel Phones; Google Pixel 3a and 3a XL:
As I said above, some rumors were turned to reality in Google’s keynote 2019. It was rumored that Google might launch the affordable version of Google Pixel phones and guess what? It is doing so.
To lower the prices down a bit Google decided to bump the processor down. Making the processor jump from Snapdragon 845 to a Snapdragon 670. Not only this but the affordable Google pixel 3 phones will have storage up to 64GB and dropped wireless charging capabilities as well. However, the manufacturers found the space for 3.5mm headphone jack as well.
Further details have that the Pixel 3a will start at $399, and come with a 5.6″ display, 12.2mp rear camera and run Android P out of the box. The Pixel 3a XL will start at $479 and bumps the screen up to 6.0.
Google Home Hub Re-branded; Nest Hub and Nest Hub Max:
Here’s another Google device that will face a low in pricing according to Google keynote 2019.
The Google home hub is getting under rebranding needle with a price dropping from $149 to $129, this price is for the rebranding Nest Hub.
However, its bigger brother, Nest Hub Max will have a display of 7″ to 10″ and also a camera. The process of this bigger and better beauty will be $229. The Nest Hub Max will start shipping this summer.
Duplex, Now on the Web:
Launching its AI-powered service tool last year, Google is now looking forward to taking more benefit from its creation.
Duplex, the AI-powered service tool was created to help small businesses in fielding more calls, answering the simple questions and even scheduling appointments. Small businesses, like restaurants and saloons, were given a helping hand in the form of Duplex.
Keeping its demand in mind, Google is about to launch Duplex on the web. Now more business can take help from this invention.
The Next-Generation Google Assistant:
Who doesn’t rely on Google assistant these days? Now with the upgrade, we will find ourselves more dependant on this Google creation.
Google has now shrunk its voice recognition models down from hundreds of gigabytes to half a gigabyte. Which makes the model right to fit on a phone.
Now that the assistant will be stored locally, the conversation is meant to become instantaneous. Also now that it’s running on the device, it will work in airplane mode as well.
The company in its keynote showed the capability of the Google Assistant in the device by firing commands to it and showing its amazing result.
The good news is that the next-gen Google Assistant will debut in Google Pixel Phones next year.
The Much Awaited Dark Theme Android and Focus Mode:
I don’t know about you but my eyes were surely seeking some darkness. And finally, my prayers have been heard. The Android Q will have a dark theme that can be triggered automatically and also function manually.
Not only the dark mode but you can also have focus mode while doing something important. Now you won’t be distracted with the frequently used application as focus mode allows you to make a list of all the apps that distract you while working. The list will then disappear that app until you switch off the focus mode.
Google Maps with AR Mode:
Google Maps is getting better with the Augmented Reality feature displayed earlier. The Google Map AR will help to understand their direction way better than GPS. As soon as the users hold their phone up. The augmented reality feature will show the camera view of the whole world in front of the user. Google Maps will then compare this image to its Street View data to determine your exact position/orientation.
This mode is yet in beta for a while but will soon start debuting in the Google Pixels phone.
These were just some of the announcements made by Google in Google keynote 2019. However soon after the consumer-focused keynote, the company started developer-focused keynote as well.
