“WE WERE ON A BREAK!” The all-time-famous dialogue by the most popular sitcom in the world, FRIENDS clearly defines my situation right now.
Our constant readers would’ve witnessed that we haven’t updated any blog lately, but that is because we wanted to get our hands on something worth trending. So here we are, with a fresh new blog on your favorite TV series.
The TV series celebrated its 25th anniversary on 22 September and the biggest search engine in the world, Google, has done something super surprising for all the friend’s lovers.
But before we get on to that part here’s a little something about those who do not know about the famous TV series.
Knowing a little about FRIENDS:
Only a person or starfish (a reference to Spongebob Squarepants, * duh *) can not know about the madly loved and globally popular American TV series, FRIENDS. Exactly 25 years from now, on 22 September 1994, a TV series aired on NBC. Little did the cast knew that this was the last time that they will be able to step their way on the streets without getting mobbed by the insanely huge amount of fans. After the first season, the sitcom was madly loved by viewers. Every character was now known for its fictional names in the series.
The series has been watched for more than 25 years now. Even Netflix, the famous media-service provider owns the series because of its never-ending viewership. Being one of the biggest Netflix and Friends fan I can tell you that even after watching the whole series for more than 4 times, I still binge-watch FRIENDS every day.
The 25 Years Celebration and Tribute – Lets Began with Ralph Lauren:
The series has such a vast impact on the world, that one of the main character of the show, “Rachel Green,” has her own Ralph Lauren collection. After copying her haircut from the different seasons of the sitcom, here’s a whole new clothing collection to drool over on.
You can’t just deny envying, loving and drooling over Rachel Green. I mean this woman was a connoisseur of everything perfect. From Rachel haircut to Rachel’s outfit, Google has been used widely by women to look as appealing as Rachel from 25 years ago.
In the series, after serving as a waitress in the legendary coffee house, Rachel Green finally got her dream job as the fashion executive at Ralph Lauren. And now to tribute her character and the play itself, the clothing brand has launched a whole collection of wear-to-work clothes inspired by Rachel’s outfit to her workplace. Isn’t that amazing?
Keeping the essence of the show, the collection has been named “ The One Where They Wore Ralph Lauren.”
This isn’t it. Except for the globally famous clothing brands, the biggest search engine, and technology giant, Google has honored the TV series very innovatively. Let’s see:
Google’s Tribute to FRIENDS:
In the honors of Friends 25th anniversary, Google has hidden seven easter eggs inspired on show’s dialogues and characters. We have each easter egg for every character.
Although it is not trouble for dedicated fans like me to find out those easter eggs for the newbies we are here to help you know what Google has done for us:
Here’s are easter eggs for each character:
The One with the Chick and Duck:
To find the sarcasm king’s easter egg all you have to do is search “Chandler Bing,” and scan through the info panel until you find out Chandler’s madly loved recliner. As soon as you click you’ll witness flashback from the episodes with Chandler’s pet, chick and duck.
Phoebe’s Smelly Cat:
Unlike Chandler. Phoebe had a metaphorical cat in her mind on which she made a song that even Taylor Swift sang on her tour. The song can be heard in all the seasons and now thanks to Google, all you need to do is search Phoebe Buffay and click the guitar icon on info panel to listen to the song once again. *smelly cat, smelly cat, what are they feeding you*
The One with The Rachel’s Haircut:
Like I said above, Rachel’s haircut is one of the most google things in the world. Almost all of us envied her perfect hair. Google has made an icon in the info panel that by clicking takes you to image search result page for “The Rachel”
The One with the…. “PIVOT!”
If you’re hearing Ross shouting “PIVOT” then someone around you has been clicking the info panel of Ross Geller a lot.
With every click, the screen rotates, and at last, the sofa is broken and you can hear a Ross shout PIVOT for the last time.
The One with Not Just Clean, It is Monica Clean:
Oh, the queen of cleaning, Monica is loved by all. And now even Google is tributing her character with an icon in info panel that’s when clicked instantly cleans your screen from you.
Now your screen is not only clean, it Monica clean.
The One Where Joey Doesn’t Share Food!
This one is my favorite. Just search Joey Tribbiani, click on the icon in the info panel and witness joey snatching back his food on your screen.
