Instagram App Is On A Clean-Up Mission!

“Fake things are never strong” – Pierre Boiste
After knowing that Facebook lost 120 Million accounts hacked, Instagram is all alert. Instagram App has taken this truth to heart while removing fake likes, follows and comments from pages that have turned to fake follower providers. Hence, if you notice a reduction in the audience count of any page, you know why that happened! Using an algorithm, devised to track and take down the policy distorters, Instagram is in full-swing to free the platform from the harmful.
In order to raise their followers to an impressive number, a lot of Instagrammers approach third-party apps. These apps pretend to exist for a different reason. But they are actually there to serve a purpose in disguise; to increase their client’s followers. By generating artificial likes and follows, these apps are into using fraudulent means to gain attention. This is a concept that works in complete opposition to the policies set by Instagram.

How this thing works, is actually pretty interesting. These third-party apps ask their customers to provide them with their username and password with which they take control of the user’s account. Using their account, these apps automatically like and follow accounts that have related hashtags, convincing them to follow the follower back.
“Starting today, we will begin removing inauthentic likes, follows and comments from accounts that use third-party apps to boost their popularity,” states an Instagram spokesperson.
The accounts involved in the act of using fake means of obtaining popularity, are to receive an in-app message from the team saying that their inauthentic likes, follows, and comments are being removed. They will also receive instructions to change their username and password for the sake of cutting ties with the third-party app.
These are apps that are most likely to appear as analytics apps that are meant to assist influencers with tracking the size of their audience. Some of these include Archie, InstarocketProX, and Boostio, being the popular ones currently present.
These apps, providing customers with the wrong alternatives to attain instant popularity, are pulling Instagram’s image down to a platform that isn’t credible or genuine. In order to restore its image, the steps as taken now, are vital to be implemented.
