So I guess I’m not the only one who is witnessing too many ads on Instagram.

Instagramers these days have been seeing too many ads on display on the social networking site. We are now fully aware of the reason behind it. The central power involved behind the app doubling the number of ads on its platforms is none other than its parent company Facebook.

As per the reports by The information, last year the parent company; Facebook has given order to Instagram to roughly double the number of ads on the newsfeed. Due to these orders, the app has changed the pattern on displaying the feature ads by taking it to the stories option. These ads are not only on the stories but are also present in the newsfeed and explore features of the application.

The mightiest social media platform having control over other mighty social media platforms is none other than Facebook. After controlling all the activities on Whatsapp, Facebook reportedly is beginning to have greater control over Instagram as well.

Social media giant originally bought the photo app in 2012 for $1 billion and has been making changes ever since in the application. To show its dominance over the social media application, Facebook is now planning to change the name of the application from “Instagram” to “Instagram from Facebook”. This idea came forward after the Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg felt annoyed by not receiving the due credits its company earned for making Instagram grow.

After this, reports have been circulating in the technology industry that tensions took place between Facebook owners and Instagram owners which resulted in the resignation of Instagram’s co-founders in 2018.

Facebook Brought Big Changes After Having The Control of Instagram:

After acquiring control on the app, Facebook soon made big changes in the application. The major and the most controversial move made by the social media giant was adding advertisements on insta feed. Although the move was not received cheerfully, yet the parent company Facebook and Instagram itself made a whopping amount of  $9 billion in ad revenue in 2018.

With this particular move, users began to notice unusual activities on their newsfeed. Users found out that the company has been having an eye on the interest and conversation to show them what they need to buy through advertisements in the newsfeed.

All of this and others said above pretty much gives us the reason why we see ads more than ever on the application.
