Instagram Removed Following Activity Tab From its Platform!

Following Activity Tab
Rachel MSocial Media, TechnologyOctober 10, 2019

Guess who’s has been forced to put his/her stalking skills aside? And is now compelled to live a normal life due to removal of following activity tab?

One of the mightiest and engaging social media sites, Instagram after doubling its ads, has announced to remove its spookiest, creepiest yet vividly used feature “ Follow activity ” tab from its website.

Yes, you heard it right! Users can no longer cherish their stalking skills on the social media platform anymore.

Bidding Farewell to Following Activity Tab:

If you’re an avid Instagram user you must be fully aware of the company’s constant approach towards modernizing its platform. Instagram is a social media platform that doesn’t shy away from introducing new features in the application hoping to make the user experience better.

Being a constant Instagram user myself, the social media platform has managed to grasp most of my attention, daily. With their amazing features and activities, I always find myself intentionally or unintentionally switching to Instagram for entertainment.

Whether it’s about uploading pictures or checking out memes through its ‘humor’ category in the explore tab, Instagram has been nothing but a delight from the beginning of its existence. Users have always had good words to say regarding Instagram, which must have been hard for its competitors to listen to.

However, with an announcement done earlier by the company, I found many users being vocal about their sadness regarding the decision taken by Instagram.

The users took to Twitter to showcase their protest and sadness against the decision. But we will get back on it later. First here’s why Instagram did so:

“Many Users Didn’t Know That This ( Following Activity Tab) Tab Existed” – Instagram:

Now, this makes me confused.

When I switched to Twitter to gather all the relevant information about this recent change on Instagram, I found nothing but upset Instagrammers complaining about their favorite feature being disappeared. And on the other hand, Instagram’s head of product, Vishal Shah in an interview with BuzzFeed said that, “ people didn’t use the tab frequently and that many likely didn’t even know it existed and was surfacing their activity to their friends.”

Whom should I believe, then?

So instagram is getting rid of it’s following tab so you can’t see who follows who and mine is still here but I haven’t updated the app so I feel like maybe if we don’t update we don’t have to deal with this bullshit.

Apparently the “following” feature on Instagram is going away with this update, so if you wanna keep lurking don’t do it

So now that I have told you one side of the story, time to turn the page.

Stalkers are Indeed Very Sad:

After noticing that the “Following Tab” has started disappearing from Instagram. Few furious Instagram users took to Twitter to inform others about the saddest thing being intended to happen.

It took only a few tweets to explode social media with news about Instagram planning to remove the “following activity tab” from its platform.

With this news being surfaced all over the internet, the stalkers no longer know what to do with their life.

Here goes some of the reactions we collected by Instagram users on Twitter:

While these super angry Instagram users have no clue why the site would bother to make this change ( without their permission) the company is clear with its decision.

Making Instagram a simpler and safer place for users belonging to different spheres of life, the heads working at Instagram won’t mind upsetting a few users.
