Twitter Just Lost Nine Million Users

Twitter just announced the huge drop in its users count in such a short span of time, and the count is more than what the site expected.
Twitter was expecting a drop of five million users by the end of their quarter of 2018. But to its and our surprise, the site barred a handsome drop of nine million users during this period.
The mighty social networking site, known for promoting social issues and sometimes for promoting fake news has always been in the talks. The applause and allegation go side by side with Twitter.
Recently we came to know about Facebook’s encounter with fake news and information, for which the company created a war-room but with Twitter, the war was started way earlier.

For the ones living under the rock, Twitter lost a huge number of users because of its action against bots and fake accounts. And, here’s details for all of you:
Reportedly, Twitter suspended 70 million fake accounts and bots in May and June of this year. After its mission clean sweep, Twitter announced that users are going to see a huge drop to users counts because the company is determined to remove dubious and fraudulent accounts. Which obviously would affect the count of followers on Twitter accounts.
Although, this shock of nine million accounts being eroded from the platform will surely affect users and also the company itself. But, this exercise will surely make the site a better place because from a user’s eye I believe that Twitter needed a major clean sweep to lessen down the negative atmosphere on the site.
Nevertheless, Despite the user loss the site’s revenue jumped 29% to $758.1 million. The company was also able to swing to a $789.2 million profit, thanks in large part to a $683 million tax credit.
